Under the university GPA system, the first applicant looks better, even if the underlying academic performance was identical.

For MD medical school applicants. Separates Science GPA (BCPM: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math) from Non-Science GPA. A+ = 4.0. All repeat attempts counted.
AACOMAS GPA Calculator
For DO osteopathic school applicants. Separates Science GPA from Non-Science GPA. Note: Mathematics is Non-Science in AACOMAS (unlike AMCAS). Post-2017 grade averaging applies.
