Contact Us

Found a calculation bug? Need a grading system added? Have a feature idea or a general question? This page explains the fastest way to reach us and what information to include so we can help you quickly.

How our support process works

SmartCGPA is a small, focused team. We triage requests in two places: GitHub (for technical issues and feature work that benefits everyone) and email (for private or commercial inquiries). Using the right channel means you get a faster, more useful response.

1. Choose the right channel

Bugs, feature requests, and grading system additions go on GitHub so the community can see and contribute. Private matters go to email.

2. Include the right details

For a calculation bug, we need your grading scale, the grades you entered, the result you got, and what you expected. Without this we cannot reproduce the issue.

3. Expect a response within 2–5 days

Email inquiries are answered within 2–3 business days. GitHub issues are triaged weekly. Complex grading system additions may take longer depending on verification requirements.

Contact channels

Use the table below to find the right channel for your type of request.

Include: Include: your grading scale, the courses and grades you entered, the result you got, and the result you expected.

Feature Request

You have an idea to improve a tool or want a new calculator

Include: Describe the problem you're trying to solve, not just the solution. This helps us build the most useful version.

Your country or institution is missing or uses incorrect values

Include: Attach the official grade mapping from your university handbook or ministry of education website.

General Inquiry

Partnerships, licensing, media, or anything else

What to include in a bug report

The single biggest factor in how fast we can fix a calculation bug is whether we can reproduce it. A good bug report includes everything we need to see the exact same result you saw. Here is what to collect before reporting:

  1. 1

    Which calculator and URL

Tell us which page you were on, e.g. "the CGPA Calculator at smartcgpa.com/cgpa-calculator".

  2. 2

Your grading scale and grade mappings

Which scale did you select (4.0, 5.0, 10.0)? If you customised the grade map, list the letter grades and point values you used.

  3. 3

The exact courses, grades, and credits you entered

List each course in the format: "Course Name — Grade — Credit Hours". For example: "Maths 201 — A — 3 credits".

  4. 4

The result you got vs. the result you expected

Tell us both numbers. If possible, share how your institution or handbook calculates the expected result so we can see the discrepancy.

  5. 5

    Optional: a screenshot

A screenshot of your inputs and the result is the fastest way to communicate the problem. Please redact or blur any personal information before attaching.

General feedback
Help us improve SmartCGPA for everyone

We welcome feedback on any aspect of the site — tool design, missing features, confusing UI, content errors, or anything else. Even a short note telling us what worked or what frustrated you is valuable and helps us prioritise improvements.

You do not need to file a formal GitHub issue for general feedback. A brief email with the subject line [SmartCGPA] Feedback is perfectly fine. We read every message, even if we cannot always reply to each one individually.
