Student guidance

Don't forget the "Exam Hurdle"! In Fiji, you can have a 60% total mark but still fail the course if you get less than 40–50% in the final exam. Always check the "Course Descriptor" for the specific hurdle requirement.

How the Calculation Works

GPA and Weighted Average

GPA = Σ(Grade Point × Credit Points) ÷ Σ(Total Credit Points). This calculator uses the same idea with percentage marks: weighted average = Σ(Mark × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits). Enter your percentage per course (from your transcript) and set year weights. The result maps to the Honours bands above.

Example: 4 courses × 15 credits each = 60 credits. Grades: A (80%), B+ (75%), C (52%), B (68%). Weighted = (80×15 + 75×15 + 52×15 + 68×15) / 60 = 68.75% → Upper Second Class (2:1).
