Fiji Higher Education: GPA and Degree Classification
Fiji's university performance assessment is aligned with the Fiji Qualifications Framework (FQF). Students receive both a letter grade and a numeric GPA. The final CGPA determines the Class of Degree (First Class, Second Class Upper/Lower, Pass).
| Typical Scale | 0.0 – 4.5 (USP) or 0.0 – 4.0 (FNU/UniFiji) |
| Typical Pass Mark | 50% (Grade C) |
| Full-Time Load | 60 Credit Points per semester (4 × 15 credits) |
| Exam Hurdle | Must achieve 40-50% in final exam to pass course |

Student guidance
Don't forget the "Exam Hurdle"! In Fiji, you can have a 60% total mark but still fail the course if you get less than 40–50% in the final exam. Always check the "Course Descriptor" for the specific hurdle requirement.
How the Calculation Works
GPA = Σ(Grade Point × Credit Points) ÷ Σ(Total Credit Points). This calculator uses the same idea with percentage marks: weighted average = Σ(Mark × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits). Enter your percentage per course (from your transcript) and set year weights. The result maps to the Honours bands above.
