Philippine universities use various grading systems. UP (University of the Philippines) uses a unique scale where 1.0 is highest and 5.0 is failing. Many other universities use standard 4.0 or percentage systems.
UP uses an inverted scale (1.0=excellent, 5.0=failing). To convert UP grades to standard 4.0: subtract UP grade from 5, then divide by 1.25.
