Ukrainian Grade Calculator (100-Point)
Calculate your Ukraine seredniy bal using the national 100-point scale with ECTS weighting. Pass mark is 60. Scores are also mapped to national grades (5, 4, 3, 2) and ECTS letters.
| Main approach | 100-point scale mapped to national 5/4/3/2 and ECTS A-F. |
| Pass threshold | 60/100 (national 3, ECTS E). |
| Resits | FX range (35-59) can be corrected in pereskladannya sessions. |
| Credit weighting | Semester and cumulative averages are typically ECTS-weighted. |
| Rounding | Averages are mathematically rounded to two decimal places. |
Ukraine uses a Bologna-aligned 100-point grading scale that maps to national grades (5, 4, 3, 2) and ECTS letters (A-F). The standard pass line is 60 points.
- Direction: Higher is better.
- Credits: Kredyty / kredyty YeKTS (ECTS credits).
- Weighted average: Seredniy bal is typically credit-weighted.
- Assessment layers: raw 100-point score, national grade, ECTS letter.
- Typical score build: ongoing semester work plus final exam points.
For international interpretation support, use ECTS tools and the GPA guide.

Step 1: each graded Ispyt module is finalized on the 100-point scale and mapped to national and ECTS outputs. 60+ is passing.
Step 2: Seredniy bal is calculated as an ECTS-weighted average (using either 100-point scores or national grades, depending on institutional reporting).
Step 3: red diploma criteria are strict: at least 75% grade 5, remainder grade 4, zero grade 3, and final state exam/thesis at grade 5.
FX grades (35-59) can usually be corrected in resit sessions. Once passed, the updated grade is used in transcript and average calculations.
Retaking already passing grades only to improve honours profile is usually restricted and often requires dean approval.
- Seredniy bal: weighted academic average used for rankings and stipend competition.
- Dyplom z vidznakoyu: honours diploma with strict profile requirements.
- Zvychayniy dyplom: standard diploma when graduation requirements are met without honours thresholds.

National legislation standardizes the 100-point to ECTS/national mapping, but universities may set slightly different letter boundary conventions while preserving the pass line around 60.
- KNU uses strict 60 as pass and 90-100 as A/excellent.
- KPI may set A at 95-100 but keeps 60 as minimum pass line.
- Lviv Polytechnic may use local curve variations while maintaining ECTS transfer structure.
A frequent mistake is converting raw 100-point scores directly as if they were US percentages. For study-abroad applications, use the national 5/4/3/2 mapping and ECTS letter in your Diploma Supplement.
Confirm with your dean's office which Zalik modules are strict pass/fail and which are differentiated graded Zalik, since only graded modules should affect numeric weighted averages.
