Student guidance

Don't underestimate the "Credit Weight"! Many students focus on getting an A in an easy 2-credit elective while neglecting a 4-credit core Math or Science course. Because GPA is weighted, the 4-credit course has double the impact on your final average.

How the Calculation Works

GPA and Quality Points

GPA = Σ(Grade Point Value × Credit Hours) ÷ Σ(Total Credit Hours). This calculator uses the same idea with percentage marks: weighted average = Σ(Mark × Credits) ÷ Σ(Credits). Enter your percentage per course and set year weights if applicable.

Example: 5 courses totaling 16 credits. Grades: A (4.0), B (3.0), C (2.0), B (3.0), A (4.0). Credits: 3, 4, 3, 4, 2. Quality Points = 12 + 12 + 6 + 12 + 8 = 50. Semester GPA = 50 / 16 = 3.125 → Pass (Near Cum Laude).
