Degree Classification (Divisions)

The final Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) determines your Division classification. Some universities weight final years (Level 3 and 4) more heavily.

Student guidance

Don't forget that Continuous Assessment (CA) is a "hurdle." If you excel in the exam but failed to submit your assignments (CA), you can still fail the entire module. Always ensure you have a "Clear to Sit" status before exams.

How the Calculation Works

Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA)

Weighted Average = Σ(Mark × Credits) ÷ Σ(Total Credits). Enter your percentage per module and credit value. Set year weights if your university uses level weighting.

Example: 4 modules totaling 64 credits. Marks: 78%, 62%, 68%, 82%. Credits: 12, 12, 10, 30. Weighted Points = 936 + 744 + 680 + 2460 = 4820. Average = 4820 / 64 = 75.3% → First Division (1).
