Sri Lankan universities primarily use percentage-based grading with degree classifications. Percentages and degree classes are the official measures on transcripts. Credits: "Credits" or "Course Units". Pass mark typically 40%. GPA/CGPA not the national standard.

- Credit weighting: Each course has credit value.
- Weighted Mark: Course Mark × Course Credits.
- Final Average: Σ(Weighted Marks) ÷ Σ(Course Credits).
- Degree classification: From final weighted average.
